Khawaja Asif appears before NAB
RAWALPINDI: Former foreign minister and PML-N leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday to record his statement for allegedly amassing assets beyond known sources of income.
A Combined Investigation Team (CIT) of the NAB Rawalpindi interrogated Asif for one hour and handed him a questionnaire.
Talking to the media after appearing before the CIT, Asif said, “It was a good day in the NAB. They asked me questions, which I replied and they also handed me a questionnaire, which I have not seen yet.”
Asif said he will reply to the questions after reading the questionnaire.
The NAB is also investigating other PML-N senior leaders including Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif, his son Hamza Shahbaz and Khawaja Saad Rafiq for making assets beyond known sources of income.
The NAB has also summoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ex-chief minister and ex-federal minister Akram Khan Durrani on Thursday (April 11) in an inquiry against him for allegedly accumulating assets beyond known source of income.
