The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday claimed to have arrested two suspects, including a criminal also wanted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.
A CTD official said an intelligence-drive raid was conducted at a hideout on the outskirts of District West and, after an encounter, two men – Liaquat Ali and his associate Najaf Ali – were arrested and weapons seized.
Interrogations revealed that Liaquat was wanted by the KP police for several murder and kidnapping cases with a Rs1.5 million bounty announced for his arrest.
Officials said he had relocated to Karachi to evade KP authorities and resumed his criminal activities here, with his involvement in a bank robbery at Water Pump last year having been ascertained.
