Transvestite injured in Mansehra attack

MANSEHRA: A man attacked and seriously injured a transvestite here, police said on Thursday.

“The accused forced his entry into the rented house of the victim, Silk, late in the night. He first cut her hair and caused multiple injuries to her body parts,” Maria Khan, the president of Shemale Association in Hazara division, told reporters.

She said the locals rushed to the scene and locked the accused in a room and informed the police who arrested him and shifted him to the police station. “We have arrested the suspect, who attacked a transgender and attempted to escape,” said a spokesman for the Police Department. He said the police were investigating the case to ascertain the reason behind the attack. Two transgender persons belonging to Mansehra have been killed and many others were injured in the last few months.
