‘KTC conducting monthly review of Centre-funded uplift projects’

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the Karachi Transformation Committee (KTC) constituted by the federal government has been tasked with conducting a monthly review of the progress of Centre-funded development projects in the city so that they could be completed in time without any hindrance.

The Sindh governor said this during an interaction at the Governor House with a 42-member delegation of the Command and Staff College Quetta of the Pakistan Army. The delegation was led by Chief Instructor of the College Brig Zulfiqar Shaheen.

The recently announced Rs162 billion special development package for Karachi by the federal government was one of the issues that came under discussion during the meeting. The Sindh governor said on the occasion that the newly constituted KTC comprised experts of the relevant fields so as to ensure the timely completion of the development projects being funded by the federal government.

The Sindh governor also stated on the occasion that the present government had been working with the resolve to ensure the basic necessities of life related to health, food, shelter, education and employment at the doorsteps of the needy citizens concerned in the country.

He said that the present government had launched a comprehensive programme under the title ‘Ehsas’ for poverty alleviation, adding that this would ensure the fundamental needs of life to the poor and destitute sections of society.

The governor said that the entire nation was proud of the sacrifices rendered by the personnel of the armed forces for guarding the physical frontiers of the country. He said that the personnel of the armed forces also rendered innumerable sacrifices for the sake of the restoration of peace in the country.

He said that in-service professional training courses as those being offered by the Command and Staff College went a long way in enhancing the professional capabilities of the army officers and to keep them abreast of the modern warfare tactics and techniques being used all over the world.
