Khyber wins Fata Super League
KHAR: The Khyber Green Zmari defeated Kurram Guloona in the final match of the Fata Super League Cricket Tournament by 57 runs.
The final was played at the Bajaur Sports Complex. Thousands of spectators watched the match. The Khyber had scored 168 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing five wickets. The Kurram team could not chase the target and were all out for 111 in the sixteenth over. Pakistan Cricket Team’s fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, former governor Shaukatullah Khan, former members of National Assembly Shahabuddin Khan, Shahjee Gul Afridi, Additional Home Secretary Khalid Mahmood and others were also present to witness the final match. About 24 teams from the tribal districts participated in the tournament. Speaking on the occasion, former governor Shaukatullah Khan congratulated the organisers of the Fata Super League Cricket Tournament for successfully holding the event. He said that peace had been restored to the former tribal areas after witnessing destruction. Shaukatullah called upon the government to provide the missing facilities at the Bajaur Sports Complex.
