Citizens flock to food festival
LAHORE: Thousands of citizens thronged the two-day Lahore Carnival, a food and entertainment festival, which ended in Jilani Park here on Sunday late night.
The festival organised by the district administration brought scores of families to Jilani Park where they had fun and shopped at the stalls. They had lunch and dinner with their families at the food stalls.
The kids also enjoyed the carnival. Special kids’ zones were also made for their enjoyment. Deputy Commissioner Ms. Saleha Saeed made untiring efforts to make all the events successful so that the citizens could enjoy with their families in a safe atmosphere.
On the first day of the carnival, Punjab Governor’s wife Parveen Sarwar along with MPA Musarrat Cheema and DC Ms. Saleha Saeed participated in the event as chief guest and visited different stalls. The DC herself purchased handmade clothes of Kamlia and enjoyed the event. Similarly, a lot of families purchased different items from the stalls. A music concert was also held. On the last day, noted musical singer RD performed which was enjoyed very much by the participants.
Tight security arrangements were made on the occasion. The DC said that all the events went jam packed where people had a lot of fun. The citizens also called the festival a source of relief from tensions from them. They were of the view that the district administration should keep on arranging such events.
