So far, 98 ODIs have been played between the two countries with the Aussies walking away with victories in 62 outings, with one match ending in a tie and three failing to yield any results.
Pakistan has won 32 matches out of the 98 played so far at different venues. Records do not favour Pakistan on UAE soil where both sides have so far played 14 matches, with the Greenshirts winning six and suffering a defeat in eight.
Pakistan and Australia faced each other nine times in the World Cup matches. Australia again have the advantage over Pakistan in the grand event matches, winning five and losing four. Even in one match of the champions trophy played between the two team, Australia was the ultimate winner.
Six players from the Pakistan’s squad have been rested, including skipper Sarfraz Ahmed. Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi have also been rested in view of the upcoming World Cup, while Hussain Talat has been dropped. Shoaib Malik will lead the team in Sarfraz’s absence.
