Bike riders from Lahore reach Bara
BARA: Three bike riders of K-2 King Tourism Association Pakistan reached here from Lahore on Thursday evening.
Bara Assistant Commissioner Kashif Qayyum, political leaders, civil society members, traders and journalists welcomed them.
Speaking on the occasion, the assistant commissioner said that the sports and tourism activities were stopped when the militancy was at its peak in the area. He said the picnic spots and parks and tourist resorts were destroyed due to militancy.
“We want to restore tourism and sports activities again in Khyber district,” he said, adding the government was planning to promote tourism in erstwhile Fata.
A bike rider, Tahir Ali, thanked the administration and tribal people for the warm welcome and support.
Talking to reporters, Tahir Ali said the government had restored peace and harmony in tribal districts. Later, the bikers left for far-off Tirah valley.
