PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial president Humayun Khan on Thursday said that they can give another call to the workers to stage a protest against the mistreatment meted out to the party leaders and activists in Islamabad.

Talking to reporters here, he condemned the police baton- charge on PPP workers and said that the arrested activists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were yet to be released.

The PPP leader said that “selected” Prime Minister Imran Khan should not test the patience of the PPP workers. “We will stand shoulder to shoulder with the party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Our workers cannot be intimidated through arrests and tortures,” Humayun said. Terming the cancellation of bail to party workers deplorable, he said it was an act of cowardice on the part of the government.

He said the rulers were setting the worst example of cruelty and mistreatment. He said the PPP was not afraid of accountability and vowed to face the government at every forum. The PPP leader demanded the immediate release of workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Humayun threatened to give another call to the workers from KP to stage a protest demonstration outside the prison if their demands were not met.
