LAHORE : To provide relief to people, the Punjab government has proposed several amendments to building bylaws of Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
This was revealed in a meeting held here on Thursday to review proposed amendments in bylaws of LDA under the chairmanship of Minister Housing & Urban Development Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed. Secretary Housing Zafar Nasrullah Khan, LDA DG Amna Imran and representatives of builders and developers attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed said complexity of laws created hurdles for people and builders. The purpose of proposed amendments is to provide relief and save people from different complexities. The realistic amendments to LDA bylaws will also promote construction industry.
Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed said all stakeholders should be taken into confidence while drafting amendments regarding service design, marketing, layout, planning standards and NOC of housing schemes. The recommendations and genuine demands of builders and developers should also be considered in this process. With the introduction of realistic amendments to the bylaws, the problems being faced by the people would be addressed to the optimal level, he said. The participants were also briefed about the proposed amendments to bylaws of housing schemes in detail.
