Rape-cum-murder accused gets death sentence on 3 counts

FAISALABAD: Additional District & Sessions Judge Inam Elahi Wednesday awarded death sentence to a rape-cum-murder accused on three counts.

The court also imposed Rs 2.5 million fine on the accused.

Accused Abdur Razzaq of Muzaffar Colony had abducted 8-year-old Fiza Noor on July 2, 2018, and strangulated her after raping her. He later threw the dead body in Fields near Mohallah Razaabad. The accused was arrested from Lahore Airport before his escape to a foreign country. Man strangled by wife, paramour: A worker was strangled allegedly by his wife and her paramour on Wednesday. Ehsan Iqbal, a hosiery worker of Chak 261/JB, Faisalabad suspected the character of his wife Shahida Perveen. They used to quarrel with each other.
