KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on Wednesday opened a special counter at Protectorate of Emigrants Office in Karachi to facilitate Pakistanis going abroad for work.
The NBP in statement said this facility would help immigrant workers open their foreign currency accounts to be used for sending remittances home from any part of the world.
After inaugurating the facilitation counter, Zulfiqar Bukhari, special assistant to PM on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development, said around 300 Pakistanis were registered via Protectorate of Emigrants Office.
It is mandatory for every Pakistani going abroad on work visa to get their passports stamped by the Protectorate of Emigrants Office.
There are a total of seven such offices. Karachi office became the second one to have started extending foreign currency account opening facilities to the nationals.
