LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Director General Capt (R) Muhammad Usman presided the session of scientific panel to modernise food safety regulations. The session was held at PFA Headquarters.
Standards and regulations for meat, milk, eggs, yogurt and ice-cream were the main agenda of the session. The panel reviewed the quality of antibacterial preservatives being used for frozen meat preserving. The panel also reviewed the water quality being used in food. Water which was being used in the preparation of foods has a vital role and affect in the human body, said the DG. Latest research over energy drinks was also discussed in the meeting as well as market research over it. Experts from various institutes participated in the scientific panel session and exchanged important instructions and opinions.
