Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment Boards here on Monday launched ‘Cleanliness Week’' under ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ theme which will continue till March 23. The authorities concerned of both the Cantonment Boards directed the sanitation staff to perform their work properly and make all out efforts to improve cleanliness in all cantonment areas.
The Sanitation officials of CCB and RCB said daily monitoring of sanitation staff work would be done.
RCB and CCB were making efforts and taking measures for improving the overall cleanliness in their respective areas, they added.
The elected members have also been requested to keep a vigil on the working of sanitation staff in their respective wards.
They informed that cleanliness week was being observed on the special directive of the Punjab Government.
The residents were called upon to extend full cooperation to the civic bodies and put garbage in dustbins placed in all areas.
Awareness pamphlets would also be distributed among the citizens during the campaign.
Meanwhile, the residents thanked CEOs of RCB and CCB for taking special interest and measures for cleanliness and assured their full cooperation.
