Natalie Dormer's reaction to Sarah Ferguson's Epstein links resurfaces after 'The Lady' release

The release of The Lady's first two episodes has left some wondering why there were no promotions for a show featuring a high-profile actor like Natalie Dormer.

The first episode aired on Sunday 22nd February and the second on  Monday 23d February at 9pm.

The third and fourth will air on Sunday 1st March and Monday 2nd March at 9pm respectively.

The Lady is a four-part drama which tells the story of of Jane Andrews, a woman who went from a small town in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, to the inner circle of the royal household as Sarah Ferguson's personal dresser for eleven years.

She was later convicted of murdering her boyfriend Thomas Cressman in 2001. After the release of the two episode, some fans  have praised Dormer's acting on The Lady, especially her resemblance to the royal and her accent.

However, Natalie Dormer, who rose to global fame for her work on Game Of Thrones, pulled out of promoting the series back in September 2025 following a fresh revelation about Ferguson’s links to Jeffrey Epstein.

In an email sent in 2011, Ferguson apologised to the American financier for publicly disavowing him after he’d been jailed years earlier for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

Speaking  about The Lady, Dormer, said “Since completing the project, new information has come to light that makes it impossible for me to reconcile my values with Sarah Ferguson’s behaviour, which I believe is inexcusable. For that reason, I will not be taking part in the promotion of the project.”

Dormer donated her full salary from The Lady to the National Association for People Abused in Childhood and the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse.

Viewers will be able to watch new episodes of The Lady on ITV1 and ITVx.
