King Charles hosts David Beckham at Highgrove as he puts final touches to garden project

David Beckham has a special relationship with the royal family. His latest meeting with King Charles is an example of it.

The duo met at Highgrove – a countryside retreat for the monarch – as the two gentlemen enjoy the garden graft as well as blooms and bees there.

Along with ex-England footballer, Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Ambassador, Alan Titchmarsh, and garden designer Frances Tophill, were also present.

Together, they put the last touches on the Curious Garden set to feature in the Chelsea Flower Show – the top gardening event in the world.

In photos from the visit, which took place last week in Gloucestershire, all of them were decked out, looking sharp in spotless suits as they laughed and dug the garden.

According to the Daily Mail, the group added a beehive, which is also a common liking of Charles and Beckham.

Commenting on the King's pet project, Sir David, a King’s Foundation Ambassador, said, "Both The King’s Foundation and the RHS do such great work in protecting and promoting green spaces across the UK."

'I want to help encourage a new generation to appreciate the benefits of nature and get involved in gardening," he adds.

"It’s been fun to be a part of creating the Curious Garden, and I’m excited for people to see it at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show," he concludes.
