Secret UFO tape discovered after 70 years may reveal hidden details about 'Invasion of Washington'
The tape is set to be in the storage of a research center, which will reportedly make it available
In 1952, a series of unexplained sightings took place in the skies above Washington.
These unidentified objects attracted much attention at the time and sparked excitement and fears of an alien encounter.
It came to be known as the ‘Invasion of Washington'.
Fast-forward to today; UFO disclosure advocates are claiming to find a link to the decades-old UAP mystery.
The clue appeared in the shape of 1952’s reel-to-reel briefing tape, and it has been stored at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory.
At the UAP transparency forum, Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) shared further details.
In the tape, several unnamed Air Force officials and a few scientists have been mulling over the strange sightings over Washington.
To the delight of UFO activists, the research center has reportedly agreed to share the material.
Behind the discovery, Jordan Flowers, executive director of the Disclosure Foundation, credited Burlinson.
In his view, the U.S. representative from Missouri pressed the government to make the hidden records available.
“He’s stopped asking politely. He knows where certain files are. He’s demanding answers,” Flowers told NewsNation Prime.
“They found these files in that way at MIT Lincoln Labs. Their lawyers confirm that it exists.”
It is worth noting that the so-called ‘Invasion of Washington’ occurred during the height of the Cold War.
This, in turn, sparked theories that strange lights darting across the sky could possibly be Soviet technology.
