ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media Iftikhar Durrani said on Monday that public was showing faith in the Pakistan Citizen Portal (PCP) and, so far, out of 530,000 complaints received, over 380,000 had been duly addressed.
Briefing media persons about the portal’s activity, he explained that initiative was launched in October last year with a viewing to helping out the masses with regards to their issues. However, he maintained that the portal did not entertain complaints or issues, which were sub-judice or related to political family and national security.
Durrani pointed out that the technology-based Complaint Resolution System (CRS) was launched also with the aim to ensure check and balance and give the message that the public sector departments were answerable to masses.
He explained that improvement to the system was being brought about to come up to expectations of people in relation to their issues.
Durrani said interest of the public in the citizen portal could be gauged from the fact that 829,494 people had downloaded the portal on their cellular phones.
About the structure of Prime Minister Citizen Portal, Deputy Secretary of Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit Adil Saeed Safi said some 70,000 complaints were put aside due to various reasons.
