A man was found dead at a vacant plot located in Saudagaran Society in the Malir neighbourhood, which falls in the jurisdiction of the Al-Falah police station.
The police found the body after the locals informed them about it. The body was later taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy and there he was identified as 55-year-old Imam Bakhsh, son of Deen Bakhsh.
Police officials said that the deceased had been a resident of Jumma Goth in Malir, adding that his body was later handed over to his family for his funeral and burial. Citing the initial investigations, the police said that the man had left his house in the area some four years ago, but recently returned there for the purpose of construction of his house.
They said that unidentified persons killed the man by hitting him repeatedly with blocks of concrete, adding that he was apparently killed over a personal enmity. The police are, however, investigating the case from all the possible aspects. A case of the incident has been registered and further investigation into it is under way.
