HARIPUR: Women belonging to Khanpur tehsil of the Haripur district on Thursday demanded the provincial government to provide proper healthcare, transport facilities and potable water to their areas on a priority basis.
They were speaking at an open kutchehry held here to gather information about the problems of women of Khanpur.Representatives of local government and officials of different departments also attended the event. “The people are suffering due to lack of proper health care facilities, shortage of doctors and medicines in Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Khanpur and basic health units of the tehsil,” said a woman.The women participants also highlighted the water shortage in their areas and difficulties the women face due to overloading in public transport. They also demanded the government to fill out the vacant posts of doctors and paramedics in the hospital and BHUs of Khanpur. They also demanded opening of vocational training centres at village council level. Speaking on this occasion, AC, Khanpur, Gul Bano Bibi, said that the PTI’s government was serious about addressing the problems of the women.
