ISLAMABAD: The board meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday approved earmarking of landfill site in Islamabad.
This is the first time that serious effort is being made in this context as previously sector I-12 was being used for this purpose causing air pollution in surroundings.
The CDA board meeting on the directions of the Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed included a special agenda item of land fill site. The source said that two weeks have been given to explore a site in Sangjani area for a landfill site where deep ditches are available after years of quarrying. The brochure of upcoming auction was also approved.
Sources revealed that heated argument erupted between Member Engineering and Member Estate over the fact that member engineering unnecessarily delays proceedings and raises unnecessary queries on account.
