Islamabad : After launching the development work of Sector E-12, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to take up other, much delayed development tasks.

A high-level meeting in the CDA on Tuesday reviewed the pending development projects and decided to start the development of Sector I-15 on urgent basis.

The spokesperson for the CDA said that instructions were issued in the meeting to the concerned directorates to complete formalities for tendering of development work in Sector I-15. The meeting observed that the allottees of plots in Sector I-15 have been stuck for last two decades because of delay in development work.

“However, now developmental work will commence in near future. The Project Director for Sector I-15, Ayaz Khan, has been conveyed the directions to process the file for issuance of tenders for Sector I-15/3 in the first phase,” the spokesperson said.

“This is core responsibility of CDA to develop sectors and by doing so CDA will generate funds from sale of commercial areas which would eventually be utilised for infrastructural improvement of the city,” he added.

The sources in the CDA also disclosed that instructions have been issued for full scale development work on remaining parts of Park Enclave-1.

“It is expected that bids for the purpose will be invited within one week. These sectors will yield huge revenue streams to CDA, which has remained cash strapped and idle for many decades now. With the development of these two sectors as well as the Park Enclave-1, for which the funds are available with the Authority, the CDA will be back in a position from where it could launch new residential sectors in Islamabad,” the sources in the CDA said.

Meanwhile, the CDA spokesperson revealed that completion of these projects will create new commercial areas, which would be huge sources of revenue for the Authority, which will be utilized for infrastructural development of the city.
