Islamabad : After a gap of two days, Islamabad and Rawalpindi will receive a short spell of light rain today (Thursday). The weather will also remain overcast in the day.
According to the weathermen, cloudy weather conditions are expected in upper parts of the country.
However, light thundershowers with light snowfalls over the hills accompanied by gusty winds are likely to fall at isolated places in Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Malakand and Hazara divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Cloudy weather prevailed in most parts of the country with rain accompanied by gusty winds falling at scattered places in Quetta and Zhob divisions of Balochistan.
The rain was caused by a shallow westerly wave.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Met Office said overall near normal rainfall was expected across the country in March.
He said equatorial sea surface temperatures were above average across most of the Pacific Ocean and shows decreasing trend in coming months.
The surface temperature will gradually increase during March and are expected to remain 1-2 degree above normal over plain areas of the country.
