Student arrested for killing school principal
LAHORE: Sundar police arrested the student who had killed his principal and injured her sister at the school on Wednesday evening.
A case has also been registered against the accused person under murder and attempt to murder offences. The accused person has been identified as Rizwan, son of Imran. The complainant Master Ashraf, a resident of Maraka Quarters, told police that he was running a private school at his house. The accused person had developed illicit relations with some teacher of the school. He and his wife tried to stop him from doing so and also told his parents to be vigilant over his activities. However, the accused boy nursed a grudge against the school principal. On the day of the incident, he approached the principal (S) and stabbed her. As a result, she suffered critical injuries. Her sister tried to save her on which Rizwan also hit her. Both injured women were rushed to Jinnah Hospital. The doctors pronounced the victim dead while the other victim was admitted for treatment. Police worked out the case within a day and arrested the accused person.
Firing accused held: Nishtar Colony police have arrested the accused person, who had opened firing at the house of stage actress Samar Rana, on Wednesday. The actress had a monetary dispute with one Hassan. The accused person barged into her house on March 04 and harassed her by resorting to firing in the air. He also threatened her to kill. Police registered a case and arrested him on Wednesday. Further investigation is underway.
drug peddlers nabbed: Lahore Police in crackdown against the drug peddlers have arrested as many as 72 accused within last three days. Lahore DIG Operations Muhammad Waqas Nazir had directed all Divisional SPs, DSPs and SHOs to initiate grand operations against the criminals particularly drug peddlers.
According to details, City Division Police have registered 14, Cantt Division 14, Civil Lines Division 10, Sadar Division 15, Iqbal Town Division 08 where as Model Town Division Police have registered 11 FIRs.
During the crackdown, Police have also recovered more than 15kg ICE, more than 36kg Charas and 594 bottles of liquor from the arrested criminals. Waqas said Police have been implementing on Zero Tolerance policy against the criminals particularly drug peddlers. Lahore Police will deal with these anti-social elements with iron hands.
