Special clean, green drive from 18th

LAHORE: Along with the rural plantation in the provincial capital, the district administration has vehemently focused on urban forestation in urban areas of the city and a special clean and green drive is going to be launched on March 18 in all areas of the provincial capital.

Officials said similarly a special drive for tree plantation in all public and private schools is going to start for which Deputy Commissioner, Lahore, Ms Saleha Saeed has directed Education CEO and DMO to identify areas in schools and make sure that every child should plant a tree with his/her own hand.

transport: Punjab Minister for Transport Jahanzeb Khan Khichi has said people especially females would be provided best facilities of public transport in the new Pakistan.

He said no one would face transport difficulties as the government was committed to provide better means of communication to the people because transport system was a symbol of the civilised society.

Labour inspectors: Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Ansar Majeed Khan has directed the officers concerned to provide android phones to the labour inspectors to improve their performance.

Chairing a meeting at Directorate of Labour Welfare, Punjab, on Wahdat Road on Tuesday, he directed the Labour Welfare Director General Faisal Nisar to prepare a feasibility report in this regard.

uplift schemes: The Punjab government Tuesday approved three development schemes of different sectors at an estimated cost of Rs 4022.842 million. The schemes are: Punjab Child Labour Survey (PCLS), 2015-19 (PC-II) at a cost of Rs. 243.742 million; Afforestation of Blank Areas in Irrigated Plantation in Punjab at a cost of Rs500 million and Rehabilitation and Moderanization of Islam Barrage (left bank in Bahwalpur district and right bank is Vehari district) at a cost of Rs 3,279.1 million.”

Surgical lab: An equipped surgical lab has been established at Lahore General Hospital at surgical unit 3. This lab will provide services for the young doctors to provide them practical training.

transferred: The Punjab government on Tuesday issued notification regarding transfer and posting of following officers. Mahmood Ahmad, Deputy Secretary local government, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary Labour & Human Resource vice Muhammad Shakir who has been directed to report the S&GAD for further adjustment for availing leave.

Khalid Umar Qureshi, Additional DC (General) Lodhran, has replaced Additional DC (Hqrs) Gujranwala Ahmed Javed who has been directed to report the S&GAD. Muhammad Ikram Malik (awaiting posting) has been posted as Additional DC (Revenue) Chakwal vice Asif Raza already transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary (Admin) Irrigation, replacing Tariq Masood Farooq, who has been directed to report the S&GAD for further orders. Abdul Rauf, Deputy Secretary Finance, has also been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary Schools Education against a vacant post.

Sardar Muhamamd Younis, AC Khairpur Tamewali, has been transferred and posted as Finance & Planning Officer Bahawalpur, Bilawal Ali (awaiting posting) as AC Khairpur Tamewali, Haider Khan, Finance & Planning Officer Lahore, as Section Officer Youth Affairs & Sports, and Muhammad Saleem, DMO Attock, as Section Officer Finance Department.

human rights: Provincial Minister for Human Rights & Minority Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine presided a departmental meeting at his camp office to review the human rights situation in Punjab.

Tariq, Secretary HR&MA, briefed the minister about recent important meeting held to review the status of implementation of 27 United Nations conventions at Civil Secretariat in which a review on responding to the European Union’s suggestions for UN conventions was also presented. He said the performance of Human Rights department on safeguarding the basic human rights in collaboration of all the stakeholders.

The minister extolled the efforts done by HR department and urged to give top priority to the protection of the rights of the children and women with an emphasis on bonded and child labour. Officials of Human Rights departments were also present in the meeting.

PFA: Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in collaboration with Social Welfare Department (SWD) organised an awareness camp on “Health for All”.

Officials said the objective of organizing the camp was to create awareness among masses about diet to keep them healthy. PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman and SWD director visited the camp.
