Scholars call for implementation of NAP in letter and spirit

ISLAMABAD: Clerics and religious scholars of different religious schools of thought and sects call for implementation of National Action Plan in letter and spirit.

While addressing 'Pakistan Stability Conference' here on Monday, clerics and religious scholars of different religious organisations remarked that 'National Action Plan' for annihilation of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence was drafted with consent of all the religious and political organisations of Pakistan, which needed to be implemented in letter and spirit.

Leadership of religious schools of thought and sects has always stay united with the government of Pakistan to eradicate the menace of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence from the country.

Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi presided over the conference, which was attended by the leadership of different religious organisations and leading religious sects of the country.

Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council addressing the conference stated that in accordance of Muttahida Ulema Board, Centres of leading ulema and scholars have been constituted in all over Punjab for smooth coordination with religious community of the country. He said that distance between leadership of religious community and government will come to end to resolve issues of Masajid and seminaries.

The participants of the conference also stated that Pakistan wants peace and harmony with neighboring countries adding that any aggression towards Pakistan will not be tolerated. Pakistan rendered enormous sacrifices for eradication of terrorism and extremism, which is evident on the world. Pakistan had played frontline role for eradication of terrorism and extremism after 9/11.

A joint declaration issued at the Stability of Pakistan Conference said that menace of terrorism and extremism will only be ended by making implementation on National Action Plan in letter and spirit.

The joint declaration also pointed out that distance between government and leadership of mosques and seminaries will be ended to resolve the issues of Masajid and seminaries.

The joint declaration of the conference also read out that entire nation is united in support of country’s forces to withstand any Indian aggression.

The conference also adopted a resolution to condemn drone strikes on different cities of Saudi Arabia including Abha. “Saudi Arabia is centre of Muslim and Islamic unity. Elements making drone strikes on Saudi Arabia aim at playing havoc with peace and security of Islamic world,” the resolution stated.

The joint declaration of the conference also announced that 4th International Islamic Conference will be held on 14th April, 2019 at Convention Center Islamabad in which Grand Mufti of Palestine, notable scholars from all over Muslim world and 5000 clerics from Pakistan will attend the conference.

Among notable participants of the conference include Maulana Aseed ur Rehman, Allama Sajjad Naqvi, Maulana Muhammad Khan, Maulana Tahir Aqeel, Maulana Ilyas Muslim, Maulana Qasim Qasmi, Maulana Ziaul Haq Naqshbandi, Maulana Abdul Rahman khan, Maulana Zahid Abbas, Maulana Tanvir Ali, Maulana Daud Khan, Mufti Hafizur Rehman, Maulana Naib Khan, Maulana Abubakar Siddiqui, Maulana Abdul Saboor and Maulana Yasirud Din.
