Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar has said that all revenue departments of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) must bring improvement to recovery matters and pursue litigations pending in courts.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of departmental heads at his office on Monday along with Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman and Financial Adviser Dr Asghar Abbas Shaikh, said a statement.
He said stressed the need to take immediate measures to solve the problems being faced by the KMC and to reduce the deficit. The mayor urged the officers to ensure speedy recovery of taxes. During the meeting, matters regarding various departments, including land, parks, veterinary, katchi abadis, engineering and anti-encroachments, came under discussion.
The mayor said that overcharging complaints at charged parking sites must be addressed immediately.
