Nauman, Bilal, Zubair, Ashar power into second round

KARACHI: Nauman Aftab, Bilal Soomro, Zubair Raja and Ashar Mir moved into the second round of men’s singles event at the 17th Westbury Open here on Sunday.
In the first round of this Sindh ranking tennis championship, Nauman thrashed Amir Qamar 6-1, 6-2, Bilal defeated Haseebullah 7-5, 6-4, Zubair hammered Shoaib Abbas 6-1, 6-0 and Ashar beat Asim Gul 6-1, 6-1.
Meanwhile, Ashar overpowered Mazhar 6-2, 6-3 in the second round of under-17 singles category. Haris Tariq defeated Ayan Khan 6-0, 6-4, while Yahya Ehtisham won against Danish Naseer 6-3, 7-5 in the second round of under-15 singles. In the second round of under-13 singles, Zain Ehtisham cruised to victory against Dhuruf Das 6-0, 6-0.
