Miranshah Press Club opened after 4 years
MIRANSHAH: The Miranshah Press Club was formally opened after being closed four years ago.
The club had to be closed when the Zarb-e-Azb military operation against militants started in the erstwhile North Waziristan Agency in June 2014.
General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Major General Mumtaz Hussain provided all necessary equipment, including furniture, LEDs, computer lab and other items to make it fully functional for use by the journalists.
Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mahmood had also given a grant of Rs1 million to the Miranshah Press Club.
The office-bearers and members of the North Waziristan Union of Journalists thanked the corps commander Peshawar and GOC for their generous contribution towards the press club and its restoration. The journalists vowed to perform their duties with honesty and dedication.
