Appropriate resources can help youth work for betterment of society: Alvi

Islamabad : A two-day International Conference on `Communication, Computing and Digital Systems C-CODE’19` has been organized by Bahria University Islamabad. The aim of this conference is to provide an international forum for academia, research organizations and industry to share their knowledge, experience, and contributions.

The event provides a unique platform to discuss latest innovations and challenges in the fields of communication, computing and digital systems. The conference has technical sessions, invited talks by eminent speakers and panel discussions. President Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi, graced the occasion as Chief Guest on the inaugural session of the conference.

While speaking to the audience, the president said that digital communication, high end computing, information security and artificial intelligence are the future and theme of C-CODE rightly manifests its significance and vision towards a secure cyber world. He said “Pakistan is a country of young and talented people and I strongly believe that by providing appropriate resources, guidance and confidence, our youth will have the ability to demonstrate its capabilities and contribute tremendously for the betterment of the society”. He added that Government of Pakistan is well aware of this fact and is investing in all aspects of human resource development and its management.

Earlier in his address, Rector Bahria University, Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Shafiq HI (M) expressed his gratitude to the President of Pakistan for his presence in the ceremony. He said that main objective of this conference is popularizing the idea of global citizenship and providing a catalyst for transition to the era of nationalism to internationalism, which can help students to shape their lives and the environment they live in.

He added that key focus of this conference has been kept at “Cyber Security” due to the reason that the impact of cyber space on common people is fast becoming phenomenal.

The conference is divided into different themes covering challenges and opportunities in the fields of Computing, Communication and Digital Systems. The key note speakers of the conference, Prof. Dr. Jonathan Andrew Ware University of South Wales United Kingdom, Dr. Gerhard Zucker Austrian Institute of Technology Austria, and Dr. Jaime Lloret Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain also shed light on educational institutions for incorporating a globalized curriculum. The conference speakers presented their respective papers on the themes such as the Communication, Computing and Digital Systems. Prominent distinguished speakers from UK, Austria, Spain, Korea, USA, Italy, Portugal, Indonesia and Pakistan have participated in the conference. Prof. Dr. Najmul Islam Dean Faculty of Engineering Sciences Bahria University thanked the participants and said Bahria University puts great focus on promoting research culture in the country and ensures its commitments to a knowledge based economy.
