LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the departments concerned and institutions worked in a professional manner during cricket series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe and through effective measures they foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy and proved that they can face any challenge.
The chief minister appreciated the hard work of departments concerned which resulted in the success of Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series. He said that cricket fans after six years got the opportunity to see excellent cricket and this series would play a key role in the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.
This was stated by him while addressing a function held in honour of the authorities of institutions and departments concerned for making excellent arrangements for Pakistan- Zimbabwe cricket series.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Cabinet Committee on Law & Order, district administration of Lahore, police, Pakistan Cricket Control Board and law enforcement agencies made foolproof arrangements for this purpose.
He said that he on behalf of the Punjab government fully appreciated the excellent performance of administration, police, law enforcement institution and Pakistan Cricket Control Board. He said that Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series has proved that people of Pakistan are peaceful and love cricket.
He thanked Zimbabwean Cricket Board and the players and said that they had shown courage by playing cricket series in Pakistan. Chairman PCB Sheharyar Khan said that the credit for the success of Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series went to Shahbaz Sharif and his government. He expressed the hope that more cricket teams would visit Pakistan.
