Mian Iftikhar granted bail
Blames KP govt for conspiracy

NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) Secretary General Mian Iftikhar Hussain got bail from the local court against Rs0.2 million surety and two personal sureties in the murder case of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker.
After hearing arguments from both sides, Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate Abdul Wahab Qureshi released the ANP leader on bail after father of the victim recorded his statement.Sher Alam, father of the victim, in his statement submitted to the court said that he did not object to the release of Mian Iftikhar Hussain.
The ANP leader’s lawyer pleaded before the court that Sher Alam had said in his statement that he was under pressure from PTI workers for nominating Mian Iftikhar Hussain in the first information report (FIR).
After the court’s decision, the ANP leader was released from the Police Rest House. Mian Iftikhar accompanied by Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Sardar Hussain Babak and other leaders and workers visited the residence of the slain youth Habibullah Khan and offered fateha.
Mian Iftikhar also met female members of the victim family and offered condolence to them.Talking to reporters, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that he was saved by the timely action by the army soldiers.
He lamented the government involvement in the whole affair and said that political victimisation should not be the hallmark of the country politics.He alleged that PTI’s local leadership was in contact with the provincial leadership and chief minister for nominating him in the FIR.He demanded probe into the incident and said that the elements who had fabricated case against him should be exposed.
