MULTAN: Office-bearers of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Women Wing have condemned the killing of a party worker during the local bodies’ polls in the KP.
They condemned this during a PTI Women Wing meeting held in the chair of district president Sabin Gul here on Monday. The participants of the meeting criticised political parties for defending ex-KP minister Mian Iftikhar Ahmed and demanded fair trial for the accused politician. The women wing activists lauded the PTI leadership for holding LB polls in the KP and said that the elections results had proved that PTI chief Imran Khan was the only leader who had charismatic personality. PTI district president Sabin Gul said that the people cast vote in favour of the PTI as the party had fulfilled its commitments made with the people during 2013 general elections. Both PML-N and PPP were avoiding to organise the LB polls in their respective provinces as both the parties had failed in providing relief to the masses, she added.
142 OUTLAWS HELD: The district police have arrested 142 outlaws including 112 proclaimed offenders during a crackdown against anti-social elements here and recovered narcotics and weapons from them.
The Qutabpur police arrested bootleggers identified as Javed Iqbal, Farooq, Muhammad Ali, Abdul Waheed, Nadeem, Qadir Hussain and Rashid and recovered a huge quantity of liquor from their possession. Jalalpur and Alpaha police arrested six drug pushers identified as Muhammad Yamin, Khalil Ahmed, Ramzan, Muhammad Yar, Yasin and Imam Bakhsh. The Shah Rukn-e-Alam, Jalilabad, Jalalpur, Sadar and Makhdoom Rashid police arrested six accused and recovered three Kalashnikovs, carbines and bullets from them. The Jalalpur City and Raja Ram police raided and arrested Tariq Hussein and Ejaz and recovered a huge quantity of fireworks material from them. Muzaffarabad police took action against illegal cycle stand owners and arrested 10 accused. Sital Marri police arrested eight gamblers while Pak Gate police nabbed Luqman for attempting suicide and Jalilabad police arrested five thieves. The City police caught 163 non-registered bikes while the same police arrested 112 proclaimed offenders in its jurisdiction.
