Two brothers, cousin shot dead

Three people including two brothers and their cousin were shot dead by unidentified attackers in broad daylight in Baghbanpura police limits here on Monday.

Police removed the bodies to morgue for autopsy. The victims were identified as Ghani, 35, and Zain alias Labha, 17, and their cousin Meraj Din, 17. They were running a meat shop in Daroghawala. They were busy in their work when two bikers wearing Shalwar Qameez, one was wearing a helmet while the other was covered with a ‘Chaddar’, approached them and opened firing with a rifle and a pistol. As a result, they received bullet injuries and were rushed to hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. The incident created panic in the locality. A police official said the victims had an old enmity with Butt Group of Muridke. SP Cantt took notice of the incident and directed Baghbanpura DSP to conduct an inquiry into the triple murder and arrest the killers by constituting different police teams. Police failed to arrest the killers till filing of the report. —
