An Evening with Flowers event organised at IBA Sukkur
Sukkur: Sukkur IBA University is the only green campus in Pakistan and I feel fresh and proud every time I visit here, said the PPP leader and MNA Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, who was the chief guest of the event, after inaugurating the flower show titled “An Evening with Flowers”, at Sukkur IBA University.
He said, flowers make us happy and rid us of our mental worries and therefore we should love the flowers, as they love us. “Allah Almighty has made this world full of colors and beauty, but we the human beings care least about it”, he said.
Talking about the past of Sukkur city he said, back in the 50s when its population was around 30000, there were thousands of trees in the city. “With rapid development and increasing population, the trees disappeared and were replaced by cement, concrete buildings. According to him, we together can fight the menace of global warming by planting as much trees as we can, because planting a tree is “Sadqa-e-Jaria”.
Giving example of the Vice Chancellor Sukkur IBA University, Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, he said, he (Nisar Siddiqui) is a flower enthusiast and therefore we all should follow him in planting trees and making our country green.***
