Pak envoy greets Omani singing sensation
MUSCAT: Ali Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, welcomed to his office last week the internationally renowned, 25-year-old singer, artist and composer Haitham Mohammad Rafi Ali Balushi, an eminent representative of Oman-Pakistan heritage, says a press release.
The ambassador fondly recalled the Omani singing sensation’s live performance at ‘Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex’ at the final of ‘2017 Stars Light – Syed Fayyaz Group Oman-Pakistan Friendship Cup’, a 5-match bilateral Test Hockey Series, broadcast live on Oman TV and contested before a packed 1500 crowd in the auspicious presence of Chief Guest His Highness Juland Al Said and Ambassador He Sheikh Hilal Bin Marhoon Bin Salim Al Maamary representing the government of Oman.
Wishing luck to Haitham for the ongoing “The Voice Ukraine” where he has won over the audiences with his diversity, the Ambassador thanked Haris Ali and Yasin Bhatti, two prominent Pakistanis based in Oman, for partnering with Haitham.
Bhatti and Haris are partner-owners of ‘Stars Light LLC’ and ‘AZ Engineers’, Oman’s leading trading company for ‘supply of electrical materials and services’ and a ‘developer & construction’ enterprise, respectively.
Both sponsors had previously teamed up to support ‘#Pakistan Awaits’ initiative in 2018 which included a Bahraini and an Omani girl along with two Omani and one Pakistani boys on a journey to the “Roof of the World” in the mesmerising North of Pakistan where planet’s tallest glaciers and three highest mountain ranges converge.
The ambassador praised the substantive contributions from Pakistani diaspora towards the historic community meeting organised on margins of the recent bilateral visit of Hon’ble Foreign Minister of Pakistan He Shah Mahmood Qureshi at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on January 30, 2019. Over 1000 had thronged to the venue to witness the proceedings studded with heartwarming performances from primary school children marked with sentiments of national unity and harmony. Ambassador extended invitation to Haitham to perform in four principal languages of Pakistan at forthcoming reception to mark ‘Pakistan Day’ which was accepted.
