Nadeem elected LHCBA (Bahawalpur bench) president

BAHAWALPUR: Nadeem Iqbal was elected president of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (Bahawalpur bench) by bagging 1,399 votes. His rival Muhammad Tayyab Zameer got 863 votes.
Muhammad Ayaz Kulyar was elected Secretary General with 1,511 votes, while his opponent Akram Baloch scored 882 votes. All other office-bearers have already been elected unopposed.
WOMAN COMMITS
SUICIDE: A 25-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping before a train on Saturday.
According to police, Irum of Jamil Colony, Bahawalpur, jumped before a Karachi-bound train near Raman overhead bridge.
Her body was shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH).FOUR GANGSTERS HELD: Rahim Yar Khan police Saturday arrested four gangsters.
The police arrested ringleader Zafar alias Zafri and three other gangsters. Zafri was involved in motorcycles and cars-snatching and robberies of more than Rs170million.
Talking to reporters, District Police Officer (DPO) Umer Salamat said the gangsters were involved in looting vehicles of courier companies on different highways. He said the gangsters used to despatch the booty to Afghanistan.
He said dozens of snatched motorcycles and other valuables things had been recovered from the gangsters.
