Kite-flyers sent to jail
Rawalpindi : The city police presented total 323 kite-flyers, kite-sellers and accused of aerial firing in the courts of area magistrates, Muhammad Iqbal Sanghera, Naeem Afzal, Hafiz Imran, Muhammad Arshad and Sumera Alamgir Civil Judge, Rawalpindi on Saturday.
The courts sent all the accused to Adiala Jail on judicial remand. The violators were sent to jail on violation of 'The Punjab Prohibition of Kite Flying Ordinance, 2001 (Ordinance LIX of 2001).
The judges have released under-age violators after imposing fines from Rs3,000 to Rs25000.
Rawalpindi Police has presented a detailed report in courts in which they registered total 253 cases against kite-flyers, kite-sellers and they did aerial firing and arrested 323 people. Police has also recovered kites, chemical stings, speakers, sound systems, 112 pistols, 7 revolvers, 2 rifles, 1 gun, 1 carbin, 6,377 round, 3 magazines and 156 covers from different areas.
