DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The South Asia Youth Parliament for Water arranged a seminar on Friday to create awareness among citizens about the global warming challenges and climatic changes.
The seminar was held at the Government College of Technology. It was largely attended by students, members of civil society, traders, educationalists and journalists.
Muhammad Raza Ali Khan Gandapur and Muhammad Wasif Bashir highlighted the objectives of the seminar.
They said growing pollution and deforestation were the reasons behind climatic challenges. The speakers believed the policymakers and politicians were avoiding the critical issues linked to environmental problems which were posing a serious threat to citizens.
They said the time had come to create awareness among the citizens about the reasons behind increased flooding, natural disasters, cyclones and drought as well.
The speakers said the future generations would confront a host of humanitarian crises if pre-emptive measures were not taken.
