6 Khassadars suspended for taking bribes

BARA: Six Khassadars were suspended for taking bribes from truck drivers at various checkposts in Khyber tribal district, an official said on Wednesday.

Talking to reporters, Khyber Deputy Commissioner Mahmood Aslam Wazir said the suspended Khassadars manning checkposts in Bara, Jamrud and Landikotal were involved in taking bribes from truckers. He said that six Khassadars had been suspended and investigations ordered against them. The official said several Khassadars had been reshuffled in view of complaints about taking bribes from transporters. “We have ordered the reshuffle of the Khassadars manning checkposts in Bara, Jamrud and Landikotal,” he said.
