Uninvited
February 21, 2019
It was unprecedented that nobody from the opposition was invited to the events hosted for the Saudi crown prince. The government should have at least invited the leader of the opposition, Shehbaz Sharif.
On such occasions, the government should have kept all differences aside and ensured that the opposition and the government are on the same page. This would have translated into the message that internal differences aside, we are on the same page when it comes to national interests. It is hoped that in future the ruling party will not ignore inviting opposition members to the events hosted for foreign dignitaries.
