PESHAWAR: Three-day international conference on “CPEC: Collaboration in Higher Education and Sustainable Development” was inaugurated at the opening ceremony here on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was supposed to be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the event, but he could not come up without even informing the organisers. No officer from the Higher Education Department could also attend the ceremony.
However, the ceremony was well-attended by faculty and students of different universities of the province and officers from different departments. Vice-Chancellors of different universities of the province spoke on the occasion. Prof Zhang Jiadong from China was the guest of honour on the occasion, while Dr Safdar Ali Shah from Higher Education Commission was the keynote speaker. The event was organized by the China Study Center of the University of Peshawar.
