PIA cuts fares on Beijing route

February 20, 2019

BEIJING: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a substantial reduction in fares for its Beijing-Islamabad-Beijing route, besides offering special fares and packages to passengers travelling in groups as part of the skilled manpower for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Pakistan.

“We have reduced fares for both economy and business classes and passengers can now buy return economy class tickets for 3,620 Chinese yuan and business class for 8,039 Chinese yuan, respectively, PIA Country Manager to China Nasir Jamal Malik told APP on Tuesday.

PIA’s fare was lowest as compared to Air China and other regional airlines operating from China to Pakistan, he said, adding that the national flag carrier was actively participating in the CPEC framework and was extending unprecedented support and services to its valued Chinese travellers.

“Special fares and packages have been offered to passengers travelling in groups as part of the skilled manpower for CPEC projects in Pakistan, while serving delicious Chinese meals onboard the aircraft,” he added.

The country manager said that the national airline was operating two direct flights a week on Beijing-Islamabad-Beijing route on Monday and Friday with the in-time departure from Beijing and better service to its valued customers.

Currently, Air China and China Southern are operating flights from Beijing to Islamabad and Guangzhou to Lahore, respectively.

Jamal said that PIA was also providing a discount on airfare to Pakistani students studying in China and over 22,000 Pakistani students were the beneficiary of this relief.

PIA was the only airline, which was allowing 40kg baggage to each passenger on direct flights between China and Pakistan, he said.
