ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has appointed Andaleeb Abbas MNA, a leading corporate and development sector expert as Convener of the cross-party 20 member Strategic Planning Oversight Committee (SPOC) to chalk out a five-year strategic plan for National Assembly to move away from the conventional work environment to a more modern, professional and automated form of working.
Ms. Andaleeb Abbas, a Member of the National Assembly from Lahore brings a vast experience, spreading over three decades in planning, management and development. She is an expert of global repute, having worked with the World Bank and top international brands.
The SPOC has been mandated to develop a framework for Strategic Plan 2019-23. The strategic plan is very important as it will determine the direction of National Assembly for the next five years to make its legislative, oversight and budgetary functions more effective and efficient while simultaneously making it fully representative of the will and aspirations of people of Pakistan.
It is expected to encompass a clearly defined vision, mission, values, goals and objectives of this sovereign parliamentary institution.
