Ladies tennis enters semis stage
ISLAMABAD: Sarah Mehboob and Sara Mansoor were well on course to play the final of the Subh-e-Nau NBP Ladies National Tennis Championship that entered the semi-finals stage here at the PTF Complex Courts on Friday.
Sara Mansoor blanked Nida Akram without losing a single game while Sarah Mahboob also won her match against Mariam Mirza with the same difference.
Young Zoha Asim continued her fine form beating eighth seed Meheq Khokhar 5-7, 6-0, 6-4 to make it to the semi-finals.
Zoha played exceptionally well to down her experienced opponent Meheq. Sara will play Shimza Naz in the second semi-final. Fifth seed Shimza Naz defeated 3rd seed Esha Jawad following interesting contest.

Girls’ Under-14 semi-finals: Amna Ali bt Farah Shah 4-0, 4-1; Haniya Minhas bt Zainab Ali 4-0, 4-0.
Girls’ Under-18 semi-finals: Zoha Asim bt Amna Ali 6-0, 6-1, Shimza Naz bt Nida Akram 6-0, 6-0
Ladies doubles quarter-finals: Mariam Mirza/Nida Akram bt Oreen Jasia/Mahnoor Sohail 6-2, 6-2; Esha Jawad/Mahvish Chishtie bt Shimza Naz/Khunsha Babar 6-2, 4-6, 10-5. Girls’ Under-10 final: Haniya Minhas bt Esha Zia 4-0, 4-0.
