PESHAWAR: The police on Monday unearthed a heroin factory in the provincial capital and arrested the owner, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Zahoor Afridi told media persons that police while acting on a tip-off raided a house in Musazai and recovered six kilograms of heroin and raw material being used in the production of the drug.
Police said one Dr Umar Farooq, a veterinary doctor, who was allegedly running the factory, was arrested. The officials continued that the accused had confessed to smuggling heroin to different parts of the country. They said the police was offered a bribe of Rs1.3 million during the raid to hush up the case but the cops refused it.
