PESHAWAR: A special task force of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has disconnected 4,350 feet illegal pipelines and 241 illegal connections during an action in parts of Peshawar during the last one week.
The SNGPL special task force had been constituted to check illegal connections. It said that the action was taken in Urmar, Achini Mera, Landi Arbab, Pishtakhara, Regi, Tehkal Payan and villages on the Charsadda Road and Phandu Road. Cases were lodged while applications forwarded to the police stations concerned for the registration of another 12 cases.
Separately during a joint operation with districts administrations of Karak and Kohat, four illegal factories and six commercial gas connections have been disconnected and FIRs lodged against its owners. The task force would continue operations in Peshawar, Charsadda, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Kohat and Karak.
