PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani has suspended an investigation officer of Havelian for faulty investigation.
Three citizens Ashfaq Ahmad, Ishtiaq Ahmad and Waqar Ahmad of Havelian had submitted an application to the IGP seeking registration of a first information report against investigation officer for faulty investigation due to which they remained in jail for 40 days. The police chief got the allegations probed through a board. The board, in its report, termed the allegations based on facts and recommended suspension of the assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Muhammad Younas.
The police chief on the recommendation of the board suspended ASI Muhammad Younas with immediate effect.
