Islamabad markets to remain open till 10pm
Govt accepts traders’ demand

ISLAMABAD: The government has accepted the demand of the business community and traders to let them keep their shops open till 10 pm in the federal capital.
Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, MNA, said Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has accepted the demand of businessmen and extended the timing of shops closure in Islamabad to 10:00 pm.He was addressing a hurriedly called press conference at ICCI along with leaders of the business community and traders associations including Abdul Rauf Alam Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, Kamran Abbasi, M. Kashif Chaudhry, M. Ajmal Baloch and Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Khalid Chaudhry and Malik Sohail Hussain.
He said there would be no load shedding in markets from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and those who want to keep shops open from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm could utilise UPS or generators. However, he appealed to the traders to cooperate with the government and ensure closure of shops in Islamabad by 10:00 pm. He clarified that restaurants have been exempted from this decision.
Abdul Rauf Alam, chairman Traders Joint Action Committee and Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, president Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and the government for giving due consideration to the demand of the business community.
