LPG prices surge by Rs5

KARACHI: The marketing companies of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) have increased the price by Rs5, Irfan Khokhar of All Pakistan LPG Dealers said on Friday.
The increase in LPG price would result in surge of domestic cylinder by Rs30 to Rs40, while the rate of commercial cylinders has increased by Rs120 to Rs160 per cylinder.
“LPG marketing companies increased the prices and they would rise further by Ramazan,” Khokhar said.
“Due to low price of petrol in the local market, there is less demand for liquefied petroleum gas and there has been no import during the last two months, but still the prices were increased.”
Khokhar said LPG demand would surge significantly in Ramazan, adding that the government should advise the marketing companies to stock the commodity so that prices could be controlled in the holy month.
